We are trying to fill an immediate need for a mid level PHP develoepr with at least 2 years of experience for an ON SITE contract position in Union Square - off site may be possible one day a week after 1 month of work. Contract will last approximately 5 months, but may go longer depending on the client. There is a strong possibility of continued work if you work well with us.
Required skills:
Experience with LAMP stack:
development with PHP 5
solid understanding of OOP principles
an understanding of SQL and MySQL
familiarity with memcache
Thorough experience and knowledge of HTML and CSS
understanding cross-browser issues is important
Understanding of JavaScript frameworks (prototype, jQuery, general AJAX, etc.)
Experience with version control (Subversion, CVS, etc)
Helpful if experienced with unit-testing and continuous integration systems (PHPUnit, Maven, Hudson)
Experience working in a production environment that receives very large volumes of traffic, and optimization techniques to reduce overhead
Not required but very helpful:
Experience developing Facebook apps and working with the Facebook API
Experience with PHP Frameworks (Zend, CakePHP, etc)
Understanding of Client/Server communications including AMFPHP
The rate for this position is
$25-$33
depending upon your experience. We are looking at a start date of
Monday Oct 5.
